I've never been to Mardi Gras but from what I have heard and read its one big party. I would have loved it 30 years ago but I'm not so sure now. But... to celebrate I've made a traditional Mardi Gras king cake. It turned out pretty well... not as beautiful as some of the photos I've seen but its tasty and was loads of fun to make! So.. heres to Mardi Gras!!!

Wow! You did a great job on the King Cake. Used to get them all the time when I worked in downtown New Orleans. I went to Mardi Gras once, and only once -- about 28 years ago, and that was enough for me. I don't do crowds and craziness at all anymore. Have a fantastic day. :) Tammy
